C. Fire Watch

Recreational fires shall be constantly attended until the fire is extinguished and the area has cooled. Outdoor fires should be a minimum of 50 feet from any structure, subject to increase by Fire & Life Safety. A minimum of one suitable fire extinguisher or other approved extinguishing equipment shall be available for immediate use.

D. Procedure for recreational fire permits

This recreational fire permit is required for any outdoor or indoor open flame operations.
1.	NC State Fire and Life is reviewing this permit and the requester and responsible parties agree to the safety requirements and expectations as listed below.	4.	Upon completion of this permit application, a staff member from Fire & Life Safety will contact you.
2.	A permit is required prior to starting and is required for every occasion that an open flame is used in any form on NC State University property.	5.	A fire watch is required for the duration of an open flame. Fire & Life Safety may request further measures.
3.	A recreational fire permit should not be issued without considering the significance of any other permits to work in the vicinity, or adjacent manufacturing processes which may involve the use of flammable liquids or gasses.	6.	The reactional fire permit should be accessible on site for those who may wish to inspect the site, to ensure that conditions have been met and that the recreation is complete before the recreational fire permit expires.

F. Compliance

Fire & Life Safety has the authority to revoke a recreational fire permit at any time.
